Betting-The Dream of America

Is not that what gambling is all about. You’re constantly hopeful that you can receive some thing for practically nothing, or at least very little. Do you not recall what your mom advised you? You can’t have anything for nothing. That is what my mother told me, and I have found out since then that she was absolutely right. I think Wilson Mizner said it very best, when he stated, "Gambling: The positive way of getting absolutely nothing for something." Genuinely, at the end of the day, that’s it…..right?

In the fantastic state of Montana they have these amazing tiny equipments, known as keno machines. These keno equipment are everywhere, and the places that these equipments reside are called "casinos". I place casinos is quotes because they aren’t betting houses like you feel of gambling dens. You can find no table game or slot equipment, just video slot machines poker and keno machines. In any case, I managed to receive myself roped in to the dream of succeeding a couple hundred dollars in a sitting. The next point I knew I was heading back to these equipments pretty much daily. After a couple of months of this I realized that no one really wins. Oh sure, you may win fifty dollars here and there, except over span of time your just feeding the machines 5 dollar bills like they were candy.

I managed to look at myself and I do not even go into the "gambling establishments" any more. I’ve met persons who seriously almost lost everything they’ve wagering the ridiculous keno machines. The point that gets me about this type of betting would be the fact that casinos will advertise for the radio that they have an 85 per-cent payback rate. This may be the rate because it’s mandated by law. A eighty-five percent payback rate sounds amazing, except when you imagine about it this simply means that if you place $1 into the machines it gives 85 cents back . That is how it works. Just consider of it as a reverse ATM. When I started thinking of gambling in these terms, I stopped.

I suppose that is my goal with this article. To get you to realize that you actually can’t win, no matter what other folks tell you. As Doc Holiday mentioned in Tombstone, "The odds are all around the house." That and only that would be the only reason there’s even a place on this planet known as Vegas. Because the odds are all on the casino.
